SkyWorld and Brady Bunch mom get 'Revolting'
STONEHAM -- In her five seasons as the matriarch of an iconic television family, Carol Brady -- with a little help from live-in maid Alice -- kept an immaculate household, complete with a permanently green and manicured astroturf lawn. Or so it seemed.
Viewers never got to see exactly what was in Alice's mop bucket or whether anyone washed her hands after using the toilet. For all anyone knows, the picture-perfect Brady home may have been a breeding ground for staphylococcus or e. coli bacteria.
The thought is, of course, revolting. And that is precisely what the client -- Agion, one of the world's leading producer's of anti-microbial surface coatings -- wanted.
SkyWorld and design firm Captains of Industry recently unveiled a multimedia marketing piece called "That's Revolting," which features Brady mom Florence Henderson in a house of microbial horrors.
"This may be the first time that viral marketing has been quite so bacterial," said SkyWorld President Michael Ratner. "This kind of piece shows just how much fun you can have with the Web when a client is seeking to push the limits."
That's Revolting features a campy, 70s-style mulitmedia design, complete with video skits and interactive games.
"SkyWorld was able to translate the amazing creativity of the Captains of Industry to the Web," Ratner said. "The result is something that people want to talk about -- which is the essence of viral."
