SkyWorld Interactive Selected As A 2002 MIMC Awards Finalist For Two Websites
Stoneham, MA (October 4, 2002) – SkyWorld Interactive today announced it has been selected as a finalist for its work on websites designed and built for the MTA Benefits (http://www.mtabenefits.com)and C.R. Bard Endocinch (http://www.endocinch.com)The nominations are in the Financial Services and Technology product categories. Held annually by the Massachusetts Interactive Media Council, the MIMC Awards recognize excellence in the creation of interactive technologies designed, produced or developed in New England. The MIMC Awards has been cited as one of the most prestigious awards competitions for New England’s interactive industry and one of the largest technology awards showcases in the country.
“This year’s MIMC Award submissions attracted some of the most impressive interactive technologies in the industry today, said Leslie Cushing, Executive Director of MIMC. “We are delighted to showcase the excellent and innovative use of these technologies in all different sectors.”
MTA Benefits develops group insurance, mortgage and other financial programs for the members of the Massachusetts Teachers Association. MTA Benefits turned to SkyWorld for a site redesign that would meet the expectations of a more web savvy audience. SkyWorld designed a new look, navigation and architecture to highlight key benefits programs. The latest site redesign utilizes dynamic design and content elements to give MTA Benefits control over almost every aspect of the site.
SkyWorld Interactive developed an expanded Web presence for The Bard Endocinch System, one of the latest medical innovations from C.R. Bard, a Fortune 1000 healthcare company headquartered in New Jersey. Bard Endoscopic Technologies develops minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic products used in conjunction with procedures requiring flexible endoscopy. The EndoCinch web site is dedicated to Bard’s medical procedure for GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease or chronic heartburn). The site as a whole had to represent the EndoCinch procedure as a “bearer of relief”. The site conveys a positive, healthy and happy outlook to both patients and physicians. SkyWorld designed a site divided into two major areas along with Patients and Physicians, to address patients questions and needs, as well as handle physicians’ needs for more in-depth information and documentation. The Patient area offers FAQs about the procedure, detailed in layman’s terms, information about GERD and video testimonials. Physicians can access a secure extranet with a clinical library, downloadable reimbursement documentation and a sales representative finder.
SkyWorld Interactive will be recognized with the other finalists in the categories of Financial Services and Technology Products at a gala awards ceremony attended by over 1,000 of the region’s top technology and business professionals. Winners will be announced at the ceremony in the Boston Copley Place Marriott on Monday, November 4, 2002.
The 2002 MIMC Awards is sponsored by Bingham McCutchen LLP, Boston.com, Magic Hour Communications, MSN, Nixon Peabody LLP, Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLC and Technology Review.
